VJ Technology (”VJT”) is pleased to announce the acquisition of Mainline Products (“Mainline”) from its current management shareholders, who will all remain with the business. The terms of the transaction are undisclosed.
Primary Capital backed an MBO of VJ Technology in June 2018. VJT is one of the UK’s leading distributors of technical fixings, fasteners, tools and consumables to the infrastructure and construction markets. It has a well-established brand with a reputation for premium-quality products and strong technical value-added support services.
Mainline has grown to become one of the leading specialist suppliers of coloured fasteners, profiles and accessories to the rain-screen façade industry. Their unrivalled colour matching ability, coating quality and product availability, within a few working days sets them aside in the UK façades market. Mainlines coating also meets with UK, European and International standards and has received an accredited 25-year warranty on all its coloured parts.
Mark Tomlin, VJT CEO, commented, “From our very first meeting, it was clear that there was a strong cultural fit between VJT and Mainline. Mainline has a superb reputation for high quality coloured fasteners for the specialist façade market and could see the benefits of greater market reach through our strong technical sales team. VJT already supplies a range of complementary products to this market and we believe that our combined extended product range, coupled with the technical expertise and service excellence which both businesses are renowned for, will create an even more compelling proposition for customers in the façade market”.
Alistair Armstrong, Partner at Primary Capital and non-executive director, commented, “We are delighted to welcome Mainline to the VJT Group. This further enhances our technical credentials in the strategically important façades market and we look forward to being able to help Mainline accelerate its growth and offer our customers a compelling one-stop-shop proposition throughout the UK”.
The transaction was supported by VJT’s banking partner, PNC.
